Terms of service
Last updated 17 October 2026
These terms cover the DiskCity app, licences bought for it, and this website.
Who sells DiskCity
DiskCity is made by an independent developer. Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as merchant of record: it is the seller on your receipt, collects any sales tax or VAT, and its checkout terms apply to the payment itself.
The free scan
You can download DiskCity and use the scan, the city view and the Mayor's explanations without paying. The free version also cleans up to 10 GB of rebuildable items per Mac in total, in one cleanup or several.
Licences
- A licence is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. DiskCity unlocks cleaning; DiskCity Pro also unlocks Autopilot, the Harbour and the developer tools.
- A single licence is for one person, on the Macs they personally use. Team packs cover the stated number of people.
- Pro includes a year of updates. After that, the version you have keeps working for as long as you use it; renewing is optional.
- Don't share, resell or publish your licence key.
Refunds
You can get a full refund within 14 days of buying. See the refund policy.
Using DiskCity safely
DiskCity is designed so that nothing you can't get back is deleted on the first pass: rebuildable items are removed with a note on how they come back, personal files wait 30 days in the Recycling Yard, and the Harbour removes an original only after verifying the copy. Still, disks fail and software has bugs. Keep a backup of anything you can't afford to lose, such as Time Machine, and review each plan before you approve it.
No warranty
DiskCity is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will be free of errors or fit for a particular purpose, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for your licence. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.
Open-source parts
The scanner and rulebook are published under an open-source licence, which governs their use. The rest of DiskCity is proprietary.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and changes never take away a licence you already bought. Questions: support@diskcity.app.
